About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ML/AI engineer with background in Natural Language Processing to join our small product team of ambitious and talented people. We are building an AI platform that allow customer to quickly grasp the voice of the customer at scale and capture previously inaccessible, nuanced themes that were hidden in consumer reviews. We are looking for someone who can carve a path to solution in a dynamic environment where we plan in quarters not in years. This role is focused on applying your theoretical knowledge and expertise directly into work going into the product, transforming theory into practice. The output of this position is immediately customer facing and will be in everyday use by those who will come to depend on it.

What you will do

• Develop innovative solutions and models based on Large Language Models to enhance understanding and generation of natural language in our platform.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NLP and LLMs in general; translate complex theoretical ideas into practical solutions for direct product implementations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrating your models into the product pipeline. 
• Define evaluation metrics and monitoring performance; take those learnings and apply them to optimize the customer experience and improvements in our products.
• Help define data acquisition, cleaning and exploration approaches.

Ideal Candidate Competencies

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experiences.
• 4+ years of experience building software that has gone into production.
• Proven experience with Large Language Models and Natural Language Processing technologies, both API based like OpenAI and open source models.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data science libraries and frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to drive product-oriented results. 
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling techniques, and application to real-world tasks.
• Proficiency in handling and manipulating large datasets.
