Here's what we saw...

  • Mexican beers shine with an average rating of 4.66 when these themes are highlighted, with Pacifico leading the pack with an impressive 4.83 rating.
  • In comparison, domestic brands like Coors and Budweiser fall short, with average ratings of 4.35 and 3.42, respectively, marking a 16.5% decrease compared to Mexican brews, to 3.89.
  • Mentions of Flavor & Taste, as well as Dressing & Serving for domestic beers are significantly lower compared to Mexican styles, representing only 10% for Coors and 18% for Budweiser. Conversely, Modelo and Corona receive comments at or above 50%, indicating a marked disparity in consumer perception between domestic and Mexican beer brands.

So, what does this tell us? There is certainly room for some tasteful innovation in the domestic beer market. It's no wonder that Modelo took the top beer spot from Bud Lite last summer (and would have regardless of the much-covered boycott).
